Tattoo Aftercare is way more important than most people realize. Improperly caring for a tattoo can lead to problems with the tattoo healing, certain colors "dropping out" of the tattoo, lines "falling out", or just an overall poor quality tattoo that requires touchups when it otherwise wouldn't have. An artist can take a look at a tattoo that they recently created and they can tell if the client took care of their tattoo. or not. It's that obvious to the trained eye.
The old ways of healing a tattoo can't be compared to today's modern methods because the tattoos of old used inferior inks, inferior machines, and much simpler designs. The modern tattoo requires modern solutions.
Legally we are required to provide you with some type of aftercare instructions for your tattoo without promoting or suggesting a product. Since we are not doctors, here is our simple advice to comply with this requirement:
1. Wash your tattoo throughout the day with soap and water.
2. Keep your fresh tattoo out of the sun and pools.
3. Don't rub dirt or other dumb things in your tattoo, which is considered an open wound. Full stop.
We are happy to carry Mad Rabbit products. These are products that are designed specifically for tattoos. All of it is unlike anything you can find in stores. Sure you have lotions or soaps, or sunscreens, but they most likely contain chemicals that are harmful to tattoos.
Mad Rabbit got their big break on Shark Tank with an investment. Since they have invested heavily into the tattoo aftercare market and designed an excellent lineup of products using scientists that studied the data. We trust that method far more than old tattooer wives tales. All products are Made in America, vegan, and organic.
